Cold laser therapy is a type of treatment that uses low-intensity light to stimulate healing and reduce pain and inflammation in injured or inflamed tissues. It works by applying different wavelengths and outputs of light to the affected area, which are absorbed by the cells and trigger a biochemical reaction that promotes regeneration. Cold laser therapy is also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), low-power laser therapy (LPLT), or photo-biomodulation.
Some of the conditions that cold laser therapy can treat include:
- Arthritis
- Tendonitis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Sprains and Strains
- Joint Pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Frozen Shoulder
- Bursitis
- Skin Problems
Cold laser therapy is painless, noninvasive, and has few side effects. It may be used as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program that includes exercise and functional mobility.
