When we think of a massage, most of us envision a soothing body rub to reinvigorate sore and tired muscles. However, massage therapy isn’t only limited to muscle pain relief. The benefits of receiving a massage from, a Registered Massage Therapist, are numerous.

For example, a massage by a registered therapist can also improve blood circulation which is excellent for nerve health. Other benefits include: improved joint mobility; reduced muscle and joint pain; and improved lymphatic drainage.

The massage therapists at DRS Physio & Wellness are trained to treat patients of all ages with a variety of different conditions. For instance, our therapists can treat simple sprains and strains that may result from a sports related injury, to complex injury rehabilitation or disability.

Massage therapy has proven to be beneficial for many different conditions. The following is a list of conditions that are treatable with massage therapy:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Asthma and Emphysema
  • Back, leg, and neck pain
  • Cancer symptoms
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Repetitive Strain Injuries
  • Chronic Fatigue syndrome
  • Dislocations
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Fractures and edema
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Arthritis, Bursitis and other inflammatory conditions
  • Insomnia
  • Kyphosis and Scoliosis
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Muscle tension and spasm
  • Palliative care
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Pregnancy and labour support

Thanks for helping me out to understand the basic aspects of massage therapy and the benefits associated with it. Some people are unaware of such kinds of benefits. Massage therapy has a positive influence on the nervous system, cardiovascular system, skeletal system, and muscular system. Skin is one of the major beneficiaries of massage therapy. So, a person should undergo massage therapy to get such kinds of benefits and to stay physically and mentally fit. To know more about the benefits associated with massage therapy, visit

This is a pretty great post about massage therapy. I've been thinking of starting a blog on this subject myself. Any tips or anything you would recommend that I to avoid? https://www.chiropractorsnorthcharleston.com/

Hi Chase,

That's great you are interested in starting your own blog as more information is needed on alternative forms of therapy. My recommendation to you would be to keep you articles simple, concise and accurate. Ensure the information you provide is supported by medical data.

Thank you for explaining that massage therapy can help with anxiety. My daughter has been wondering how she can relax during college with her anxiety. I'll be sure to mention this to her to see if it's something she would like to try.

I want to make sure that my body isn't sore. It makes sense that I would want to get a massage therapist to help me out with this. It would be so nice to be able to get the sores worked out and healed properly.

It got me when you said that massage services can help our blood circulation, especially if done by professionals who specialize in nerve health. I would definitely need that at this moment because I feel like I easily get dizzy. My blood circulation might not be at its best after gaining weight this pandemic.

It's wonderful that you mention that massage therapy can provide relief from anxiety. I've been feeling very anxious since my dog passed away last month, so I'd like to try massage therapy this weekend. I'm going to see if there's a good massage therapist in my area that I can use.

It was interesting to know that massage therapy is good for nerve health as it can improve blood circulation. My friend wants her back pain to be relieved. I should advise her to take massage therapy to relax her tired muscles.

It's great that you talked about massage therapy and how it benefits our bodies. My wife has had trouble sleeping over the past few weeks, and we've tried it all without succeeding, so I believe booking a massage wouldn't hurt. I appreciate your advice on how massage therapy treats insomnia.

I like what you said about checking for medical conditions that can be helped with massages. My shoulders have been really tense. I'll have to hire someone to do a couple of 60-minute massages.
